Here is a novice question, but first a little background:

I have 'played' with options a bit over the years with varying success. Have bought a few calls, a few puts, and wrote a few covered calls.

I wanted quite badly a few months ago to write some puts on QCOM at the $200 level or so. Could have gotten a fat premium at the time. But my on-line broker (MSDW Online) would not give me permission.

They sent this questionaire which I dutifully filled out and requested my account be authorized to do this. I was refused cause 'it did not match my objectives'.

Can you advise as to how one needs to answer these questions so as to be authorized to write puts?? OR do I have to change brokers? Does the size of the account make this a non-starter? The account in question is a normal taxable account of circa $170K.

Thanks
Ken
