By update via the internet, I'm referring to the vendor options in the tools menu of Downloader where one can do a dialup via Sprint, internet, etc. under the Network selection window.

I haven't had a chance to do a daily update yet; having installed the Metastock on Friday.

Have I covered all bases?

Here's the story on the download problem I've been laying on you guys for the last few days.

I talked to Equis and the bottom line is that Telescan is the culprit!

Turns out they have two servers; one that gives the present days update and the other holds the history. Apparently they're fiddling with the history server. If you put a start date sometime in 1995 you get the history but if you state an earlier starting date you get nothing which was my situation.

The Equis guy told me that they're well aware of the problem and will be providing a patch or CD to fix it but they're waiting until we get past the Y2K event. Actually he said that he thought it would take until mid-January before it's all resolved.

So, if we download new securities the start date can't be earlier than 1995 at this time. I can live with that.

Thanks for all the suggestions...I actually learned some things about the Downloader in the course of things!
