I agree innovation never goes out of style...there were lots of great deals and inventions in the early 1930's though.
It is my belief that massive deflation is more of a concern than inflation. The internet is deflationary. There will be no pricing power, little brand loyalty and eventually massive unemployment. It will make the global economy a real reality but not just in positive ways. I will be able to buy goods straight from SE Asia where the workers make $1.00/day. Unless there are massive trade restrictions, how can US based businesses compete? If machines are doing more and more of the work, how can unemployment continue to fall? We are in a sweet spot...just like the late 1920's.

I see that the TSE is not open until Wednesday, NewYork is open Monday and Japan is trading as I write. Presumably Hong Kong trades tonight but I haven't heard when the Nasdaq or Europe opens.
