>Try to find a unifying, coherent theme all the "experts" quoted here.

Easy. But I guess you didn't read the entire article so you probably missed the most important paragraph:

His second misstep, Faber said, was failing to predict the frenzied scramble for Internet and other technology stocks. Many sell at unheard-of multiples of revenues and have no immediate prospect of earning a profit. "I have underestimated the enthusiasm, the speculative fever and the greed in the United States and around the world," he said. "I underestimated the stupidity of the public."

>You call a business with growing revenues a "bucket shop"?

Jane, you ignorant slut.

Do you have any concept of HOW these new-era companies are growing their revenues? They are doing it through bogus one-time writeoff charge accounting tricks, they are doing it through an ever increasing percentage of "banner swap" revenue where two web companies sit down and say "hey, ill pay you 5 million for a banner on your site, you pay me 5 million for a banner on my site, and since the amount is equal we dont exchange any cash." meanwhile if a real customer walks in the door wanting to buy that banner with cash, they pay around 1/1000th the price.

Increasing revenues by selling products far below cost is NOT a real business. It is giving away dollar bills for 95 cents. How do we make a profit? "Volume Volume Volume!"

And the ONLY reason business practices such as this continue to exist is simple- executives are rewarded via stock options, NOT through a percentage of profits. There isnt an internet company out there that has even the slightest incentive to turn a profit. Everything that is done is done to maximize insider share prices. That's it. And if you think otherwise, you need to come live in the valley. Your long distance prognosticating from the bowels of eastern europe somehow doesn't impress me. You sound like a press release from Amazon.com, and nothing more. I'd make fun of you, but beating an unarmed man in a battle of wits is nothing to be proud of. So I'll just pity you.
