Spirit, big Christmas may be great for retail stocks. . .but what will Greenspan make of all this consumer confidence? We may be in for an irrational exuberance equivalent in the near future as a result of the recent market runup . . . which appears to have been caused strictly by the money inflow into equities in December. . . .which is also extraordinarily high.

Americans are throwing money into the stock market. . .buying gifts galore and getting ready to blow money on the "new millenium" like there is no tomorrow. I'd like to see the reports on savings, wages and on consumer credit. Are we reaching above our means? Are we spending our new wealth from our high-tech jobs? Or are we spending our childrens inheritance?
