>No way, Glenn. Don't go there.

You go, girlfriend!

The difference, of course, is that when Amazon decides to expand into a new category, with an ad budget, inventory, etc- we all KNOW it will be profitable!

Unlike bricks and mortar stores where they never know theyll be profitable until after they've incurred the expenses..

And how do we know Amazon will be profitable in every new category? Well, just because! I mean, so far they've been stunningly profitable in every segment, as long as you subtract out the cost of goods, advertising, fufilment, office rent, and executive salaries. You know- those one-time non-recurring charges. Oh, and dont count the insider stock sales which are occuring at roughly 4 times the rate of total revenue, each year. Just ignore that. These people have to pay for their kids' braces, people! Have a heart! We all know deep down inside that Bezos still loves his old honda and apartment. Just because he drives a flashy new volvo and parks it inside his 20 million dollar mansion doesnt mean he's lost the edge!
