Well the Levy's sort of broke with tradition and did not do Busch Gardens this year. Instead we went to the new park in Orlando called Islands of Adventure. We stayed at an onsite brand new hotel called Portifino Bay built to look like a small Italian or Greek fishing village...from the hotel you take a boat directly to City Walk and either Universal or the new park. The parks were empty with no lines at all rides! Thank you very much to all my christian buddys for staying at home. The best new ride is Spiderman which is a moving car ride that takes you through a series of gigantic screens and combined sets with those three d glasses....all previous shows like this were in a movie theater so this is the next level in this design. At one point it gives you the illusion of ascent by moving buildings down on three screens around you in 3d. Another great ride was a trip to the lost continent of Atlantis where you walk through this tunnel that somehow they made to look like the parting of the ocean. They sent high pressure water jets around the entire perimeter of the circle entrance which did not fall at the top of the arc since its speed was so high...very cool effect. Also cool stuff for the little kids in a section called Dr Zuess. Merrigoround with Zuess characters, foam ball room with power air jet guns all over so you could have wars hitting each other...of course I did not participate. We spent 3 days never getting in a car which was in itself a pleasure.....the hotel is expensive but offers a 50% discount for Florida residents and they never checked ID at check in...highly recommend to any who come this way.....for those of you have never seen City Walk it is a night life dream come true with multiple themed clubs such as the Latin Quarter, Hard Rock disco, one based on Jimmy Buffet, NBA basketball, NAScar, etc and multiple fancy places to eat, street performers like in San Fransisco and loud music all over and great landscaping....(where was this place when I was single?)....
