There are the unfortunate in every society imo, and maybe I disagree with some in that I believe they need to be cared for... especially children where the payoff can be great down the line. Imo a child should never go hungry or without medical care. But where I draw the line is the massive redistribution of wealth that we have today where one group benefits at the expense of another for the sole reason that they are politically powerful.

As far as Ayn Rand is concerned, I would argue that my ideas are closer to randianism than what we have today with government entitlements. I do believe in handouts for the very poor and unfortunate but thats it... nothing for one group because they are old or a certain minority on that basis alone.
