Sid,

Exactly how do you cover a short that has gone to 0? I would presume that a defunct stock can not be bought. How do you return such shares to your broker?
And..."...the ideal short, known as a "terminal" short, because as it goes down you put the proceeds of your short sale in your pocket"
How do proceeds go into your pocket if the position has yet to be covered?

curiously,
Doug R

Sid,

Thank you for your very articulate response. I love the phrase "terminal" short!! The part about not owing taxes because you have not covered yet is particularly interesting. I would be very interested in what companies you think would be good short candidates.

I won't add a shorts category yet to the contest . . . let's wait and see if more people request it.

Thanks,

Katie K.
