I hope you're right!

I think I have my mother-in-law convinced that this is a good one, but she wants to wait until after the split when it is more affordable!....She doesn't understand that the split is not the issue, she just looks at the price of 100 shares and likes $13,500 better than $27,000 and just doesn't like the idea of 50 shares for $13,500....I didn't want to ruin the Holiday by expressing frustration, so I just went along with the program....so, you might be right....there just might be a lot of folks who are waiting until the split to get in.

Tomorrow - 12/28 is the "record date " for the 2:1 split and presumably the eligibility deadline for Alta Vista IPO
shares through Wit.

That is untrue on two fronts. The "record date" has virtually nothing to do with the split. It is irrelevant. Split dynamics (whatever they are) will occur up to 1/11 without any influence from 12/28 trading.

Also, NO eligibility date has been set for ALTA IPO. No IPO date has yet been estimated. No DSP letters have been sent. In short, there is no reason to expect that ALTA IPO will have any unusual impact on trading today or tomorrow.

DSPers will need 200 post-split shares to qualify, but that doesn't mean they need to have 100 pre-split to qualify...
