FWIW - Jean WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 22, 1999 8:26 PM - South American Business Information Compuletra, an information technology based at Rio Grande do Sul state, has introduced the Bio Web e-commerce identification software designed to improve security in Internet transactions. With sales for US$1.5mil, Compuletra has signed a partnership with Identix (US) that will negotiate its technology with major computers assemblers such as Dell and Compaq. Bio Web, that costed development costs of US$500,000, is based on fingerprints read by a small scanner, securing protection in electronic deals.
