Internet Effect

William: I don't really know how the internet will affect players in the patch. IMO, it's just another distribution channel for market-related information, just like the printed media, telephones, and fax machines. I do believe that it will tend to squeeze the middleman, just like it does in other industries, so the overall effect will probably be disinflationary and will work to benefit consumers at the end of the day. However, I don't know how the producers themselves will be affected.

IMO, the future financial health of E&P producers will be much more impacted by OPEC supply and F&D technology than by the internet per se.
