Depends how the market shakes out. If market share is concentrated into a few firms (like Microsoft now in the operating system arena), then, yes, there will be profits (monopoly profits). But the key is that the Internet is the great equalizer, so my basic thesis is that no single company will dominate. Even if there is only one company, the threat of competition, due to the low barriers of entry, will prevent the one company from making monopoly profits (i.e., a contestable market). I think this is what we are seeing in AMZN. It is huge, everyone uses it, but it is not making any money! I suspect it never will! BWTHDIK

I agree that we should "make hay" while we can, but the question is, as always, when will the bottom fall out!
