Well, actually folks, I kinda miss the Slider. Since I totally ignore the sleaze part anyway, I think SLB adds a lot to this board when he's on topic and I for one would welcome him back. JQP as well for the same reasons.

OT: As I mentioned on the thread, Slider has been suspended from SI for sending profane and vulgar private mails (in addition to violating nearly every term of use within a 24 hour period). His latest escapade has caught the attention of some rather high level people in Go2Net (with the help of a few phone calls from yours truly). I am not going to put up with his BS. If he wants to act like a child, he will be treated like one. The SI administrator will not be the only (or the most powerful) person at Go2Net watching his posts. He may not be around much longer when he does return. BTW, Is it my imagination or have the Terms of Use been modified recently? There now appears to be an emphasis on the termination without refund clause. As for my posting, that is likely to taper off a lot. I have decided that retirement leaves me with too much free time, and have decided to reenter the private consulting practice.

I posted on the subject because I wanted to make the point that it wouldn't be fair under the circumstances to say negative things on the thread about Slider when honor compelled him to refrain from responding. As I offered in analogy, it would be like hitting a man whose hands are tied. I wanted to point that out before anyone said something without thinking it through. The same would be true if he is suspended, imho. We can't know another's intentions, and should, imho, assume them honorable until they prove otherwise. regards, diana
