Guy,
I subscrige to Gilder because the stocks listed in his report make a nice list to work from. Using simple technical analysis to time and position makes the report worth millions. If another report exists with the same or better record I would like to hear about it. His stocks tend to be the stocks that would qualify for inclusion in the system profiled in the book "Gorilla Game" by Geoffrey Moore. Stocks like AOL, INTC, MSFT, TXN also qualified about seven years ago. Having said that, I don't know which is bigger, George's ego or vacabulary.

Guy, on GG: you are, of course, entitled to your opinion. It is true, sometimes, that George gets carried away with his own prose (in which I at times delight and at times struggle to decipher). But some of the more "philosophic" passages that you quote should be taken in the context of the entire issue of which they are part. George is no charlatan. He understands the basic premises and more important the functionality of his ascendant technologies: in some passages he describes the technology and its function; in others he describes its role in the greater Gilder vision of the Telecosm (his word, which is proving out to be very clairvoyant in terms of predicting the impact of bandwidth and ways to obtain it). I write this not to carry GG's portfolio, but only to suggest that you may want to take another look. Cosmo's plug on what the GTR has meant to its readers is no hyperbole.

Happy holidays,

Steve
