Sudan Exported Some 15 Million Barrels Of Petroleum
- Energy And Mining Ministry's Secetary General Says Khartoum Refinery To Operate Next Month

Khartoum, Jan. 3 (SUNA)- The Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Eng. Hassan Mohamed Ali Al-Tom, said Sudan exported some 15 million barrels of oil from August 1999 to December 1999 and that this quantity included the government shares as well as the shares of investing companies of China, Malaysia, Canada, and the Sudanese petroleum company (SUDAPET).

He said some 20 tankers were involved in the exportation of the said quantity of petroleum adding that about one million barrels of oil had been refined at El-Obeid Refinery during the same period. He said oil production has exceed the level of 150,000 barrels a day and that plans have been set to increase the out put to 180,000 barrels a day during the current year.

He said the ministry is also going to sign a concession agreement for the extension of the Adaryiel field, including the White Nile region and that this would take place this month. He said work in the Khartoum refinery was at its last stages and that experimental operation would be launched by next.
