. . . . .Today's Volatility. . . . I had to print out todays most volatile stock list at close. It was quite ridiculous. The largest investors. . . namely the truly rich cats and the mutual funds were absent today. . . so who was doing all that trading today? We were. The individual investors were home from work trading the stocks they love best. . . up. . .down. . .any which way. So without that liquidity provided by the funds and large size trades, we had enormous volatility. Some highlights of this strange day. . . . CMRC + 57 1-16 [28.62%] on the day it split 3-for-1. . . making the move equivalent to + $171.37 pre-split. RETK 30 1/8 [+54.89%] unbelievable. ETEK +24 5/8 [+22.69%] ELCO + 8 1/4 [+67.3%] ISLD - 21 7/8 [-17.64%] HNC Software + 18 11/16 [+23%] QCOM + 46 15/16 at 513 7/16 . . . .with a 143 mil float, this scares me most. . . . about the Nasdaq.
