Attention all 'Gemmers! If Ed McMahon knocks on your door tonight with a ten million dollar check made out to you from the Publisher's Clearing House, thank him then slam the door on his foot.

If your spouse or girl/boyfriend (or all three) wanna make nick-nick tonight, tell 'em you're busy. Why? 'Cause tonight, on Nickelodeon at 9:00 p.m. (EST) is a "Leave it to Beaver" Marathon. The Beav, Ward & June, Lumpy, Lumpy's father (Richard Deacon) Whitey, and the irrepressible and smarmy Eddie Haskell! ("Gee Mrs. Cleaver, what a lovely dress you're wearing this evening.") Enjoy. (Lee)

There is a contradiction in your puzzle. Your first message does not state that the green house must be first house. It states that the green house is to the left of the White house. Second if that is true then the Norwegian has to live in the green house. If the Norwegian lives in the first house (as a rule) it must be next to the Blue house. Therefore the Green house cannot be the first house because according to your list the green house must be on the left of the white house.

This statisfies all of the assumptions on your list:

#1 Yellow House, Norweg, Water, Cats, Dunhill
#2 Blue House, Dane, Tea, Horses, Blends
#3 Red House, Brit , Milk, Bird, Pall Mall
#4 Green House, German, Coffee, FISH, Prince
#5 White House, Swede, Beer, Dog, Bluemaster

If I am wrong, tell me which assumption in your list disproves this answer...

Thanks
