LGIC Constructs CDMA, WLL Production Facilities in China

December 28, 1999 (SEOUL) -- LG Information Communications Ltd. said it
established a joint venture telecom company, "MLG-TOPS," to launch into the
Chinese telecommunications market.

The company said it joined forces with China's GPTE and GTAST to set up the
joint venture company.

LG holds a 60 percent stake in the joint venture, with China taking the
remaining 40 percent. The new firm has a paid in capital of US$16 million and
will produce and sell CDMA-method WLL systems.
