Past company announcements - from both Corel and Inprise - said that the two companies formed an alliance to accelerate commercial mainstreaming of Linux.

"The alliance will enable the companies to develop middle-tier solutions for distributed computing, combining the strengths of Corel and Inprise's offerings."
