The ads are also seem to be aimed at the younger sect.
Future investors....college kids..etc...
It's nice to know Merril makes you feel safe knowing that your getting help from a "professional" who can guide or stea.. er..misguide you into buying his picks.....No thanks!. My professional has cost me $7000.000 and left me holding a dead stock that after 4 years is finally starting to move up....One of those low flying "tech" stocks in DSL which is currently at an altitude of 3 ft...I'll continue to hold until the next millenium for a profit.

Online trading volumes rally higher
1:15 PM EST - After losing steam in the third quarter, online trading volumes surged in the fourth. Yet e-brokerage stocks have declined this month and remain 45% to 70% off their springtime highs. Bargain hunters, take note.

Spy--yeah, I find E*Trade's ads are reasonably memorable, although I don't think they're as funny as Ameritrade's "Stuart" ads, I just wish that our ads would give folks a real and persuasive reason to pick E*Trade as their broker--in addition to the E*Trade brand-recognition tag. I won't argue that we get nothing from our current ads, just that I believe our results would be even greater if we used our advertising to separate ourselves from the rest of the pack of OLBs...
