btw, if breakdowns in the XOI were a warning sign in the past few years, the inflation/deflation debate is in urgent need of re-visiting...perhaps it is really an underlying fear of deflation that's the negative, or 'worry' undercurrent in the market. if so, watch out for 'weak' rather than strong economic data to begin to turn the tide. i do believe we are experiencing a cyclical upturn in inflation, only it doesn't seem to be all that strong. in fact i'm beginning to wonder about the CRB index...why is it still not moving up? maybe the rot in the global economy is worse than generally advertised.
