Corel lost to Microsoft in the Office Suite battle because of thier Sales Reps. Corels product (Novel's before they sold it to them) was better early then MS Office and later on it was about as good. The sales reps ran it into the ground though, I saw it happen first hand. Microsoft would work with you on price, Novel (and Corel later would not)

Blame the sales force, not the product.
