<<<Off Topic>>> Character I think I was right to insist on absolute proof before accepting that he would break his pledge. Better to err in that way than to wrongly accuse someone of despicable behavior. Now he has broken his pledge, and the period of his absence from SI was exactly two weeks, it seems almost certain he was suspended for that period, and not on vacation as he stated. (Especially telling in this regard is the fact that he has been posting on Yahoo in the meantime.) And that therefore he was also untruthful when he posted that he had not sent the Private Message that was evidently the cause of his suspension. So the evidence leads me to believe that this is a person who ---insults and demeans others repeatedly, ---misrepresents and lies, ---makes a pledge, reaffirms the pledge, then breaks his pledge. ---laughs and brags about breaking his pledge. I think the most interesting aspect of this is that so many others find his behavior acceptable. But that is another subject. The most amusing aspect is that many seem to believe he has been very successful trading, based on his own distorted reports of his actions. ---He picks and chooses from the vast library of his previous posts to support his claims; Cut and pasting quotes from here and there to rewrite the past. When he first started posting here he was much less skilled at this. He has improved greatly at his deceits. But all along there have (at various times) been other people who would spot a misrepresentation and point it out. He meets these challenges with personal insults and abusive postings, which discourage disagreement and whistle-blowing. (To be fair, I should add that it is also true that some who have pointed out his misrepresentations, and some others who have simply disagreed with him, have been abusive and insulting toward him.) In fairness I must also say that he has learned a good deal about the sector over the time he's been here. And his research has improved, although it still takes a backseat to hyperbole. (To be clearer--- His research used to be, imho, sloppy and slap-dash. It is now much less sloppy and slap-dash, but you can still count on hearing from him only the facts that support the case he wants you to believe.) ---Is he often right??? ---Yes! But not nearly as much as his own PR would contend. Many have been more successful in this sector over the last several years and gone unrecognized here because of their lack of self-promotion. (That's not his fault, of course.) ---Has he driven away many posters who would have had valuable information to share??? --- Yes! Quite a few. Smart, savvy people who had knowledge and experience and quit posting here in disgust. Imho, These message boards are, at their best, a community of people exchanging information and opinion for the good of all. I think of him as a person who is Not trying to be a contributing member of such a community. ---His purposes could be speculated upon. I personally think they are internal in him, not pump+dump schemes or something of that ilk. ---But whatever his motivations, the important thing is that HE IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY. Nothing he says can be accepted as his honest opinion. Nothing he states as 'fact' can be believed. He has proved this repeatedly. I suppose believing his misrepresentations is no worse that believing many of the talking heads on TV. It looks like many here chose to ignore his deceits and misrepresentations, and believe him a great guru. I think they're being credulous and gullible. <Shrug> But I do find it disturbing that people treat him like nothing had happened after he viciously insults and demeans others. This has become more and more true over time, so I suppose it is a result of those who are outraged leaving, so that a smaller and smaller percentage of posters expect civil conduct. Just a guess. I just wanted to post a message with my opinion. I don't expect to change anybody's mind. regards, diana
