Wed 12 Jan 2000 News Release
Mr. Normand Drolet reports
NETgraphe's subsidiary, Jobboom.com, has signed an exclusive agreement with
the newspaper La Presse to expand the Carrieres et professions service and
job ads onto the Internet. Under this agreement, both partners are joining
forces to develop potential synergies between their respective media -- the
Internet and the print media -- in order to facilitate recruiting and job
searches. Over the next few weeks, several new services will be put in
place, providing a greatly enhanced and efficient recruiting method for
employers, and an easier way to look for work and follow job market
development for potential employees. Furthermore, clients of both
Jobboom.com and La Presse already benefit from special access rates for
both electronic and print services.
"Given its leading position in Quebec with its Carrieres et professions
section, La Presse is a choice partnership for us," points out Andre
Forest, president of Jobboom.com. "Its mass appeal and the quality
readership it receives are considerable assets for increasing the scope of
our Internet service. The partnership between Jobboom.com and La Presse has
only been in place for a few days, but we have already noticed an increased
number of registrations for our services."
Mario Savard, vice-president, marketing and sales for La Presse, adds: "We
chose Jobboom.com because of the quality of its method and especially
since, from the outset, it has successfully set itself apart in the field
of information technology and multimedia. Now that it has expanded the
scope of its services to all job sectors, it was completely natural for us
to form this promising partnership so as to improve our current service for
employers seeking employees."
Formerly known as Recru-direct.com, this Internet recruiting service stood
out in the information technology and multimedia sectors by offering a
rigorous process promoting accurate communications between professionals
and companies. Since the beginning of the year, Jobboom.com covers all job
sectors. For two of these sectors, engineering and information and
multimedia technologies, it provides the same in-depth service which has
been its trademark so far. Almost 29,000 people are now listed and the site
posts some 300 job offers.
