Waterhouse does the same thing. Very disconcerting.

Just remember, LEAPs are not necessarily all things to all investors. There's something to be said for trading short term options, particularly if you follow the company closely and can position yourself to anticipate movement (ie. earnings, splits, etc.). I've made it a practice to trade the short term options on QCOM (sometimes even daytrading them) and taking some of each profitable trade and rolling it into QCOM LEAPs, buying whatever farthest out LEAP is available at the time.
