Can anyone comment on what role he will play? This was not made clear. Anyway there is a very interesting article on the December issue of Windows CE Power Magazine in which M. Moller interviews Dave Wright of Microsoft. DW commented "that starting in calendar year 2000 will bring lots of activity in the Auto PC area and that their presence will be much broader and deals will be publicly discussed. Market building will be done in conjuction with Auto PC hardware and software partners in places such as consumer electronic shows, auto shows,over the internet." I'm hoping OGPS will get some of this action. He even gave OGPS a plug at the end of his background page. It should however be updated to VP of Telematics instead of just Senior Consultant.
