Way back when... I tried to update my IE browser (from/to 3.0, I think).

It did NOT work & I had problems trying to reinstall it.

My Old one got clobbered & hasn't worked since!

I went to Netscape... and have been with them ever since!

Will the newer IE's install properly now?!
If not, what do I have to do to get it right?
I'm kinda fed-up with Microsoft... Will not waste any more time with them!

Thank you,
Joe

Mr mark and the thread:

I'm posting this for a friend through email so responses will be slow. If memory serves me correctly (have searched to no avail) the problem of having cd-roms not recognized has been discussed. This is a "Compaq Presario 1060." Using Window's 95. The CD-ROM that came
in it is a Toshiba CD-ROM XM--1402B.

The CD-ROM consistently gives a message of "NO DISK" even if there is a disk physically in the drive. At one time if we would go into safe mode, remove the CD-ROM, and shut down the computer, the cd-rom would reinstall and could then be run until the next time the computer
was turned off. The next time the computer was turned on the "NO DISK" message would reappear.

Thanks for any ideas,

tc
