Ed, I don't know that it is as simple as misuse of power for financial advantage. Clearly the state would benefit tremendously in terms of tax revenue if the property were developed. I think it is more an issue of special interests pulling in every marker they have to be sure this property is not developed. Who knows what leverage they may have.

But the point remains that this David and Goliath battle seems to be happening on a very small stage. If the stage were national (exposure in Washington, the media, etc.) my guess is there would be a much faster pace of action either to our advantage or to our demise. The state will play this live a violin as long as the political pressure is to keep the property off line. If the political pressure starts to turn the other way (to settle the case) that is where the sparks will start to fly between those who are behind the effort to keep CCO from succeeding and those who see this as much too valuable a resource to let sit idle. This may be a key reason you have been asked to not get involved. But it is also a reason that the state needs to be reminded (if it is true) that CCO can afford to keep this going for as long as it takes. It is important to remove the option the state may be thinking which is that CCO will eventually run out of stamina or money to keep up the fight.

Regardless of what the truth of the matter is, unless there is a deal being discussed right now, the company owes shareholders an update on the status of negotiations, the forward looking plan and a reason to continue to have confidence that CCO will battle this to the very end with every intention of winning.

As always, JMHO.
