i suppose their reading of the comments on their policies proliferating on the net is what resulted in the slightly defensive sounding public declaration...
one thing's for sure: the Fed is the instigator of the bubble, and as such is responsible for whatever happens in it's wake. that's why they are trying to keep it alive at all costs, for fear of losing their powers if and when it pops and the hunt for scapegoats begins.
