Did you know that the "Living Bible" was written by a Laymen (who was unschooled in languages) for his own children ? I do not for a minute think the Greeks are smarter or more spiritual than other men. In fact I think all men without God are hopeless. The New Testament was originally penned in Greek by men like Paul and John... It is not that they were Greek at all! That is the language they wrote the New Testament in. Paul and John were Hebrews but the language of that day was Greek. Why I refer men to the Greek manuscripts is because we speak English and read English Bibles... The first English Bible was written by Wycliffe and He was put to death by Rome for doing so. He wrote that around 1200 AD ( I go from an old and foggy memory ) Greek is a better language than English in that it is more specific. English is worse than French! ( Canadian joke but admittedly true ) You are right that " Thou shalt commit no murder " would be a better translation. True Bible student do not stumble at the words however but your translation is from a man who was not qualified to "translate" anything. He merely took the King James and changed it into what He Thought it said. He did not know Greek or Hebrew ( Old testament ) at all! He was not even a good theologian but because men are lazy and desire to be spoon fed truth the "A Living Bible" in MODERN ENGLISH took off like wild fire. Men who know how careful one should be translating Greek Manuscripts held out against modern translation because they knew they were not being true to accepted text. The KJV is translated from the "Received Text" as someone else blurted out a Revised Roman Text. That is not fair minded by the way. Wescott and Horte <sp?> were not saved men. They are responsible for most modern editions in English. The Greek people and the Jews and even your Race whoever they be may be are all " Totally Depraved" and there is no RACE more likely to succeed concerning the things of the spirit. Your being silly. As far as your being angry at me teaching.. it is not my loss, but you would be better to hear me than to baste yourself in own pride.I know what I know by God's Grace. I am not Self-Apointed. I am His - get over it.
