I tried to talk to broker at Schwab last year without any success. They said the options commissions were based on dollar amount. I only made 4-5 trades and stopped.

Besides there were other shortcomings with Schwab site like kicking me out in the middle of a trade, being too slow, etc. They would execute a 10-contract order one-by one and charge me commission on each execution! So I moved all my accounts out of Schwab and into Dreyfus. In addition to being the cheapest broker for option trades,Dreyfus is excellent because response is fast and I can download all the trades into Quicken with a couple of clicks. Their options chains are best of any I have seen.
