It's certainly a start. There is no reason that food or housing should be taxed. And for that matter, neither should fuel (or at least not to the extent that it currently is).

All of these items are necessary components to everyone's existence or work status. They are regressive and bear upon those with the least ability to pay them.

Btw, did you hear that Donald Trump is FOR HEAVILY TAXING the mega-rich (such as Bill Gates and even himself).
