AOL, NW CyberBase to Develop Internet Services, Paper Reports

Hong Kong, Dec. 29 (Bloomberg) -- American Online Inc. is in talks with New World CyberBase Ltd., the Internet arm of New World Development Co., to develop Internet access and electronic commerce services, the Sing Tao Daily reported, citing unidentified market participants. The two companies have been in talks since the middle of the year and intend to set up a joint venture company, the paper said. New World Cyberbase is also in talks to buy a 50 percent stake of an unidentified U.S. hi-tech company, the paper said.

New World Cyberbase said in a statement yesterday to the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong that it may form a joint venture or become a strategic investor in companies, which it didn't identify.

"nothing more than cheerleaders"

Nuthin' wrong with bein' a cheerleader, but, we must also maintain a finite degree of awareness. I've been "surprised" more than once. Ya gotta remember, it's the bullet ya don't see, that kills ya.

Cheer like hell and keep watchin' over yer shoulder.

Carlos; Looking at the charts and the fact that AOL isn't getting complacent, I'd say you're only 2 splits and a run-up away from prosperity (or back where you started, anyway)! I don't consider believing in a strong stock cheerleading.IMO AOL has been laying the foundation for a strong future.Next year should be every bit as good as this past year. cb
