Maybe two decades is not long enough? Mutual funds are doing the selling to lock in their profit which in turn is tied in to their bonus. They don't care much about tax. Shareholders pay tax, not fund managers.

Could be day traders, for whom full taxes are part of doing business. The recent volatility in the leaders looks to me as if short duration traders are prominent in the market. The stop-loss cascade that was triggered late today couldn't have been set more a day ago, given QCOM's rapid rise late yesterday.

Have you seen today's action in Q in your two decades experience? I told you yesterday two decades is not long enough. LOL
