Cirruslvr,

You're getting ahead of yourself, I'm sure you meant Athlon 750.

You are absolutely right. I meant Athlon 750.

With the 800 coming out soon prices should begin to drop. I wonder if the price cuts will be as big as Target PC says.

JC ( jc-news.com )says the Athlon 500 has gone the way of the Dodo bird. AMD doesn't need a stinkin' Athlon that only sells for ~$175. ;)

Dropping Athlon 500MHz is a good idea. They should drop 550MHz one too. I won't be surprised if the price cuts will be as big as Target PC says. If they drop 550MHz part, they could afford even bigger price cuts than the ones reported by Target PC, while improving the ASP substantially.

Regards,
Goutama
