<I doubt if many pharmacies gave anyone extra medicine the last month or so. Only your normal amount.> Depends on the drug. Some supplies are short. Some aren't. Beginning of November I went to a new pharmacy. They screwed up my prescription ... and initially gave me 90 days supply instead of 30 days [full price instead of HMO price] I didn't need 90 days ... because of my neighbor and a cousin who's a sale's rep for a pharmaceutical company ... I have a couple of months extra of "samples". So, I gave back 60 days. So far, others that I know haven't had a problem getting 1-2 months extra drugs ... if they're willing to pay full price, rather than having insurance pick up part of the price. But, like I said ... some drugs are more scarce than others. I don't want anyone to panic. Though I have to admit, that call I got from the pharmacy ... that they had two pills left ... and I could come by for one if I needed it ... was REALLY weird. Obviously since I have a couple of months, it didn't mean much to me. But, if someone didn't fill their prescription until the bitter end ... they were in trouble. I have piece of mind since Mom got several months extra of that glaucoma medicine for Dad. Without that medicine, he could go blind. If they got a call from the pharmacy ... like I did today ... they'd be scared to death. Fortunately they don't have to panic. Cheryl
