I read a report which stated that 80% of AOL subscribers never venture out of the AOL collection of web sites. That is the most profound thing about the internet I've ever come across. I have never even been to an AOL website, and I have been a heavy user of the Web since 1993. Yet there is a vast group of "AOL subscribers" who don't know that there is a Web outside of AOL. It's not likely that they know anything about free ISP service. I think AOL is in a massive of bubble supported by a large, lame group of subscribers. I'm curious to see how AOL evolves over the next year, when, if ever, AOL subscribers become enlightened.
