Need I point out that AMD has steadfastly refused to publish the Athlon errata list, leaving themselves open to speculation that the list is so long that AMD is not willing to face the humiliation of revealing it?

Reggie, the Compaq 5838 uses an Athlon 500 :-(

Other 5800 series with the lockup problem use Celeron's, Athlons and PIII. The Register story implies that this is a software problem.
