Carl, I think you are full of yourself. I guess you want us to believe that Dell and others had to scrap millions of MOBO'S because of the three rimm vs two rimm problem. Well that was not true, the still used the MOBO'S with two rdram chips in them. I got this from a good source that once worked for Rambus.

Carl thanks for your extensive comments. I do not discount your thoughts even though I am long.

My only contention at this point-

<<Some of the longs think that memory technology is all about marketing. To some extent this is true, but you have to remember who the marketing is being performed upon. Mom and pop don't know $h:t about engineering, they are particularly susceptible to marketing hype. But Rambus sells to engineers, not to mom and pop. And the design engineers are rejecting RDRAM as a contender. Marketing isn't much of a consideration.>>

At pc retailers, there have been inquiries from prospective pc buyers about rmbs-equipped pc's and this is very interesting to me.

And don't forget- MSFT's only marketing challenges were not limited to retail- they had to sell their OS to peers, even though it was not the best one. (don't spam me everyone- rmbs is no msft, I know!)

This guy Bilow is most likely not a design engineer. His day job is most likely sales and marketing for an engineering company. He most likely does not have an engineering degree and his knowledge comes mostly from talking to engineers working at his company.
