merlin, remember, i'm not a chip guy, just a mech engr who likes to invest. i recognize your comment about AMD not needing to announce what they may be working on developing.

correct me if i'm wrong, but does your post regarding the ion mill & mass spec refer to competitors who would be following any work that AMD is doing?

also, your last comment regarding material substitute vs active area layout & packaging...that would seem to be a normal progression for any technology improvement -contiuous improvement, start by using Si28 in existing configs, then look at additional thermal conductivity enhancements.

not being a chip/semicon industry person, i can only buy this based on my limited knowledge that semicons need improved thermal conductivity, that Si28 is the only substance that can be used at this point in time, that no other science has even been mentioned which could be commercially feasable - maybe 10 years down the road, we'll be using light waves instead of electrical, or single molecules instead of Moles & Moles of electrons to form a charge, but over the next 5 years, ISON looks pretty strong to me.

i just wish we could get some additional chatter on this board, knowledge is power, and more posters (not hypesters) means more knowledge.

Merlin: check this out about Silex Systems....i own this stock as well, have to buy it on the Australian market, but they are coming to Nasdq.

silex.com.au

I know for a fact that the AVLIS process(competitor) has been discarded by USEC and the Silex process will be used going forward.

if ISON gets approvals of Si28 - the Silex process could be a very efficient way of producing the material.

i actually learned about ISON by following up on my Silex investment...

well Merlin...i bought back some shares that i sold the other day when it hit 4 3/4.....

i cry each day as all the finance channels discuss QCOM - i sold it last fall split adjusted = $6 , i had about 5,000 then....

hopefully ISON has some potential to be a 3-5 bagger next year....we just need some press releases discussing the market potential of the technology and the fact that ISON has patent rights using Si28 in semicon's.
