There's a lot of good information on this thread. I had bookmarked it some time ago but have been too busy on other threads to spend much time here. Last night I started several hundred posts back and read through quite a few. But, I still have some more catching up to do though. Anyway, cheers to this group of knowledgable folks.

My question is this. Does anyone know of a source for historic option prices? In print would be OK but if available in some file to download or software format would be preferred. I'd love to be able to do some historic "What / If" scenarios comparing stock prices against the option prices.

Thanks,

marty

I know this can be complex and I'm not looking for a complete answer, just checking on my rules-of-thumb.

I bought some TYC $35 JAN 2001 calls for $7. They are now trading for $16.

There is still a year left on the calls and I expect TYC to rise more (at least to $45). My original plan was to hold the calls about 6 months and sell. Should I be considering something else at this time since they are in the money and still have a year of time value.
