PaineWebber analyst Walter Piecyk said Qualcomm, a San Diego developer of digital wireless communication systems and Internet products, represents "an appropriate way to invest in the long-term growth trends of wireless and data." Qualcomm shares closed Tuesday at 503, down 10 7/16, or 2%, from Monday's close.
