my guess would be today's comments were more of a reaction to yesterday's price movement, instead of the other way around....

It sure as hell seems reasonable to me, JC. My guess is that a few well-placed folks knew who the guest was going to be today (can't even remember his name now <g>) and knew that he was going to bull MRVC. At the least chances are they knew he was high on the stock.
