Let's have a moment of silence for those who sold Q to buy Nokia based on the ABN AMRO analyst report. All I have to say is that ABN AMRO must have had a s*load of Nokia stock they had bought in anticipation of a Q/NOK deal, and when that did not happen, they were left holding the bag. I can just see them hoping to get their clients out of Q and into Nokia.

My portfolio (50% Q) is up more today than its entire value on 1/1/96!

I'll go you one better. My portfolio is up today more than its entire value on 4/1/1999.

If I ever have another child, I swear I'm going to name him Irwin. Even if he's a she. <g>

OTOT
Hi Down South:
Some would say all judgement has been left behind in this money move to the tech stocks. IMO the judgement is not defective,
henceforth the old line companies (F,BA, S,Cat,GM,etc) are in deep trouble as the days of paying out 2% dividends while fat-cat managers
proceed on their merry way building retirement nest eggs and wearing golden parachutes are ending.
They are going to have to do something on behalf of the forgotten shareholders or those stocks are going in the tank with money coming to the techs.
The move required is a greater respect for the product buyer
and efficiency right down the line throughout every department.
Toss the entrenched bankers off the boards of directors.
Read Michael Dell's book. Investigate how HD and Wmt are being
successful.
As a word of encouragement to those seemingly few( hehe) still employed people reading here, my paper profit on Q alone today is equal to the next ten years of SS benefits owed to me and my wife.
That could be peanuts to some here, but everything is relative.
Oh Nooooooooooooooooooooo. After reading this my wife is on the Web ordering stuff from those on-line stores.
