However if they keep buying competitors, DIMD and Number Nine, then the video/sound board business might become lucrative.

All that streaming media that broadband is supposed to bring us will require improved video/sound boards.

But what attracted me to SIII was the Rio.

Yes, I think you are on to something here. S3 already knows this, since they are trying to move their business away from pure graphics chips to chipsets. One problem with chipsets, they might need heat sinks...

A MP3 play might bring a $2 billion market cap.
With the estimated 88 million shares with Via purchase, at $12, we are at $1 billion market cap.

My guess is that next year we will see $5 billion cap easily, if management and engineers work smart and lucky.
