You're right. Could be hard to find -- overseas distribution was limited (making my personal copy all the more valuable).

My recollection is, aside from Japanese leads, many supporting roles featured English speakers and one of the female leads did her role in French. Don't think there was any dubbing or any subtitles. A bit of nudity involving the evil jeune feelie and lots of action. Pal of mine played President of the Earth.

They just don't make movies like that anymore (actually, they make quite a lot of them overseas).

A private screening may be just the ticket for bringing in Y2K -- couple bottles of Dom' and Velveeta nachos should complete the scene.
