Copper Mtn Moving On

By Brenon Daly, CBS MarketWatch
Last Update: 2:58 PM ET Dec 29, 1999 Pulse Report

PALO ALTO, Calif. (CBS.MW) -- Copper Mountain shares jumped 15 percent Tuesday afternoon after Morgan Stanley Dean Witter made positive comments about the DSL company.
Analyst Alkesh Shah said in a research note that Copper Mountain (CMTN: news, msgs) should have a "strong" fourth quarter, and the visibility in the first quarter looks just as good.

Customer deployment of the company's super-fast Internet connection appears ahead of schedule, Shah added. He expects "aggressive" deployment by competitive local exchange carriers.

The stock rose 5 3/4 to 44 3/4 on trading of 2.5 million shares. That's twice as many shares as typically change hands

<I remain open and ready to pounce on PAIR if and when the opportunity presents itself.>

Brian, what is your criteria for an opportunity presenting itself?

John

Hello Brian. Would be interested too in what the criteria are for you to pounce. I've been holding a modest portion bought at 16 long enough and am thinking of selling at about 17.
