Hey, I appreciate shorts.

When the shorts show up on my stock boards, I know there are people noticing the stock. It almost always runs up after the first short appears, then it comes back down. If only I had been around my computer to sell at 78...I'd be buying back right now at 68.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunities in the years ahead.

I personally don't have a problem with shorts, you're just other side of the argument. Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose.

Jody

hey, you left off the smile and no hard feelings part of my original quote!

8)

I'd hope anybody going against a stock I hold would get run over. Why wish otherwise?

Trading is fun and profitable. I used to do it with HWP shares when I worked there and could use the 401K fund. Made 20% in 1998 and the stock was flat that year. Agilent looks pretty dangerous to bet against with the likes of JDSU and QCOM scorching so many shorts and Agilent having similar businesses.

IF they gave me the shares today I can't honestly tell you if I would take profits or let em ride as the tech bull is sure charging strong and Agilent seems to be in the herd. I'd probably be pulling a bit off as we went higher...

Noiserider - You are probably the only short that has articulated his position well. I cannot bash you for your position, however, I do believe Agilent will soar in the days and months ahead.

This company is a mirror image of Lucent in it's early days with one exception and that is....
Lucent consolidated between 32 and 40 for well over 6 months before making it's first breakout. Agilent on the otherhand has broken thru in less than 5 weeks!

You may or may not, call me crazy for adding more A shares at the close of market today. Should be interesting from here on out. I feel comfortable with my long position in this stellar company; can you dear lad say the same?

Respectfully,

Dana Adams
