Competition. I see Ford/Orcl deal deeper in scope. Their site is not only a procurement site, it may include things like SCM, to me that is something more significant than just procurement. Transactional exchange will become a commodity. Extra services are needed to increase the stickiness of the exchange. ARBA is quickly catching up after it bought TradeEx. I understand they have some integration to do which is not an easy task. But, at least now they have a complete e-commerce platform. Shoud CMRC include functionality like SCM in their site. I see SCM as an important part of an exchange especially for vertical industries.
